Bee Hotel

The insect hotel is a concept created for the purpose of giving a home to bugs such as solitary bees.
Incredibly, solitary bees (lonesome bees without a colony) represent 90% of the entire bee population. They don’t have queens but lay their own eggs in cavities created by plants such as bamboo shots.

Structures such as the insect home nestle easily into nooks and crannies so can helpfully give them shelter in urban spaces.
Thank you to Victoria Umansky, from Central St. Martins, for highlighting to us with this wonderful discovery.
